GinslovMediaStudio is for dance, digital media and film practitioners or students, wanting to learn more about dance for screen, augmented reality or interactive media. The online coaching, courses and masterclasses, offer rigorous explorations of the use of key media tools such as framing, editing, sound, special effects and interactive media tools such as max/msp or Isadora. The platform will soon include a video archive, a Video Lab with peer feedback, e-Library and networking opportunities to encourage collaborations, fostering project and job creation.
Jeannette Ginslov, founder of GinslovMediaStudio is a specialist in Dance on Film: for screen, AR (Augmented Reality) and the internet, 25 years experience in live performance, dance education, digital media and online industries, taught screendance and AR workshops in USA, EU, UK, RSA, Rwanda and Hong Kong. She has MSc in Media Arts & Imaging from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (Distinction) and MA Drama & Choreography, Rhodes University. Her works have been screened internationally: Film Institute, Danish Film Institute, BBC Big Screens Outdoors, Edinburgh Festival, Lincoln NYC and RedCat Theatre Los Angeles. 2009 Jeannette Ginslov has taught screendance and AR workshops internationally: Kigali, Cape Durban, Johannesburg, Stockholm, Oslo, Malmö, Copenhagen, Wisconsin, Hong Kong, Lisbon, Rio, Lithuania and Dundee Scotland. She is a Co-Director and Curator of Screendance Africa Ltd, on the Jury of MoovyTanzfilm Festival, is Associate Producer of www.dance-tech.net on Motion Bank.org and was Coordinator for 60secondsdance.dk (2011-14).
She is currently a PhD candidate at London South Bank University researching the re-visualisation of somatic dance and movement. Title: Enhancing digital-dance practice using biometric and qualitative data to visualise somatosensory experience.
